About AMHS

About AMHS

The Academy of Medical and Health Sciences, AMHS, is a 3-4 year STEM-based Academy at Mount Miguel High School designed to meet the demands of the ever-growing health care industry. Students interested in the health or medical field usually join as a Freshman or Sophomore and begin taking A-G core classes with a health/medical twist. Guest speakers provide real-life insight and advice. Additionally students tour local colleges, universities and health care facilities on field trips. These experiences as well as the curriculum, including labs and training to use medical equipment, are designed to prepare our students to enter into rigorous post-secondary education programs in the health/medical field in order to become our future nurses, physical therapists, dentists, physicians, ultra-sound techs, paramedics and other health care providers.
