Matadors,

We know this can be a challenging time and it is not how any of you expected your year to go.  We understand that many of you are disappointed and concerned with what this means for you and the many activities you were looking forward to.  We do not have any answers for you at this time, but please know that we care and are here for you.  We are proud of all that you have accomplished and all that you still have left to do.  Please continue to stay connected with your teachers and classes.  Please do not let this crisis stop you from continuing to work hard toward your future goals.  You got this!
Please know that we are in this together. We are Matadors, we are resilient, we will do all we can to support your transition to distance learning.  Be sure to take care of yourself and each other during this time away from campus.  We can't wait to get back to school with you all Matadors.

We are Matador Strong!

The Role of a School Counselor:

The Role of a School Counselor:

The Counseling Office at Mount Miguel High School is a very busy place.  School Counselors spend time meeting with students discussing academics, college and career plans, and assisting with social/emotional needs.  School Counselors are here to support the whole student which include academic, personal/social/emotional, and college career development.  School Counselors also build student schedules , present college and career information to students in classrooms, assist students with 4-year planning, serve as advisors for clubs and after school ASSETS programs, and organize large events such as Parent Nights, PSAT testing, Freshman Orientation, Matador For A Day, Best of Matadors Assemblies, Unity Days, Senior Awards, College Bound Luncheons, College Presentations, Financial Aid Nights, and MORE.  We are here to serve students and families and see that our Matadors achieve at the highest levels and graduate with a post-secondary plan. We strive to support our Matadors so when they graduate they are college and career ready.  All School Counselors are P.P.S. Credentialed and hold Master's Degrees in Education and/or Counseling.
