In this pathway, students engage in open-ended problem solving, learn and apply the engineering design process, and use the same industry-leading technology and software as are used in the world’s top companies.
Students investigate topics such as sustainability, mechatronics, forces, structures, aerodynamics, digital electronics and circuit design, manufacturing, and the environment, which gives them an opportunity to learn about different engineering disciplines before beginning post-secondary education or careers.
Powered by Project Lead the Way (PLTW), the Engineering Pathway is the perfect fit for students who wish to explore interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The hands-on approach to learning engages students in the application of mechanical principles by doing. Students learn to design, build, and test creations to explore the nature of materials and structures. In the process, Engineering Pathway students learn to safely, and precisely, use power tools to build models and working prototypes. Finally, participants learn to integrate electrical and mechanical systems to create machines. There will always be something to do and so much to learn!
