Science
The Mount Miguel High School Science Department will prepare you for entrance into any 2-year or 4-year university. Our science program will give you a competitive edge on your college application, and possibly college credits. The program will also allow you to explore your interest and passion in a variety of sciences, including the life, physical and environmental sciences, as well as engineering (Project Lead the Way) and medicine. Finally, the program will give you many opportunities outside of the classroom and after school, allowing you to design a program to fit your interests and needs.

In addition to the course work, the Mount Miguel science program gives you many opportunities that make our school's science program unique. You can take part in any or all of these exciting academic and extra-curricular opportunities:
Eco Club: our environment club, that focusses on saving Mother Earth through environmental action and education.
Science Club: a group dedicated to teaching lab skills and completing science related projects.
Field Trips: off-campus excursions to give you hands-on learning and skills in the San Diego community.
Yosemite Trip: an amazing week-long field trip to the Yosemite Institute, a high-adventure environmental camp at Yosemite National Park.
Internships: a chance to work alongside professionals in the marine or biological sciences.
We have two pathways that are career oriented, college preparatory in nature: Academy of Medical & Health Sciences and Engineering.
