MEC Students

Explore the remarkable journey of the students at Matador Early College (MEC)! At MEC, our students are the heart of our mission. Since 2014, 191 dedicated MEC students have embarked on their higher education journey, enrolling in UC/CSU transferable college courses at Grossmont College or Cuyamaca College. These aspiring scholars are not only preparing for college but also fully immersing themselves in the college atmosphere, gaining invaluable experience along the way.

Abagail Wojnowski

Abagail is a Class of 2022 MEC graduate that, with her effort and dedication toward her education, was able to graduate high school with an Associate Degree. She is the first student in the Grossmont Union High School District to do so. Abagail was accepted to UC Berkeley as a junior.

Bianka Rodriguez

Bianka is a Class of 2022 MEC graduate, and with her hard work and commitment to her college classes, graduated high school with 2 years of college finished. Bianka was accepted to Sonoma State University and majored in Business.

Sanela Topalovic

Sanela is a Class of 2022 MEC graduate that was also able to graduate high school with 2 years of college finished using her intellect and her devotion to her schooling. She was accepted to UC San Diego and majored in Business.
